SA will never have cheap connectivity. We have way too many governing bodies that try and control everything. It sucks, I know.

I don't think SA's even got one way anymore.

M-Web continues to supply my inboud sat service @ R325/month but I've heard they don't take on new clients anymore. Definately no longer listed on their product pages, and I think they will chuck the service eventually judging by the stacks of ADSL offers they continue to e-mail me. We use the ADSL/Sat combo for podcasts, large ISO's etc. Lately the service is a bit haphazzard, but when it works we sometimes gets 600-1000Kbps consistently (although they only guarantee 64Kbps).

Well 2 years to go and nothing much happening with cheap satellite internet, fibre looks to be gradually coming down.
Will necro the thread again in 2 years time
