Cheapest and best VPNs to use in South Africa

I stumbled across this while researching VPN's to use at home, hopefully some one can help answer a question for me...

It seems easy enough to setup a VPN service to run on our main router, an Asus RT-AC68U but is it true that if you run a VPN service directly on a router you can no longer access the network from outside? We have a need to access our Paradox alarm system, HikVision CCTv system and Home Assistant when not at home.
Yeah umm... you will want to look at other solutions if you want to get onto your own network. You could set up something like a Zero Tier network for the devices you need access to and then have all the other traffic go via your router's VPN.

Actually, there are a ton of different solutions you could do.

Smart DNS Proxy allows you to watch overseas programmes and if you need on any device VPN it is included but if you can get Nord VPN for R10 rand a month maybe that is the cheaper option Smart DNS Proxy is offering a special at the moment which might be the solution
