Hi guys

Perhaps you could help, we've been having a discussion this morning regarding the cheapest bank to be with.

Let's take this for example. You have a individual who's formally employed, professional qualification, earns a decent salary, requires about 10 debit orders, a few cash withdrawals, perhaps 30 card swipes and payments to other banks a month. No need for any real loyalty programme, unless it is very worthwhile.

What would be the cheapest option for him to be on? None of the banks have a simplified costing structure to help.

What are your thoughts? Ta

I'd recommend Capitec, but if you need a credit card etc. take a look at FNB's easy account.

Honestly, I would go with FNB.

I earn more in eBucks then my monthly fee.

I am on the Fee Saver option which I believe is no longer available.

Second option would be Capitec...

Capitec + Virgin Money CC should sort you out.

Some of the other banks have loyalty programmes (like FNB) that could see your fees minimized to effectively zero cost; however, this would be dependent on your usage patterns.

I have a Capitec account that I use for savings and its dirt cheap, however for my main account I use Standard Bank Elite for R109 per month it may sound like more but considering all the transactions I do it ends up saving me quite a bit, also I can deposit up to R15k a month free in this account through an instant ATM,now I know most people don't deposit but I do so it works out great for me.
