Cheapest way to get Win 10 Home (SL or normal)

My moms desktop has died. It was a Athlon X2 that could not be upgraded to Win 10 during the free period due to some processor component that Win 10 wanted.

Now, I can't install Windows 7 and it's key on there because the i3 7100 I got (and other 7th gen Intel CPUs) doesn't support Windows 7 (which I do have a key for).

Cheapest way/place to get Win 10 Home (SL or normal)?

That can be done (google) and then upgraded to win10 but paying R250 on carb will probably be less hassle.

On some PC's if there is a Win 7 or 8 key in the BIOS/SLIC, Windows 10 SL will automatically be activated once connected to the internet.

Take a chance on something that looks semi legit on the forums.

I bought keys off people here before. Inexpensive & was all legit from what I can tell.

At that price I can even afford to buy 2 OEM ones for my laptops and use bitlocker (they had issues doing updates to Creators Edition with VeraCrypt in them)...

Not sure what "price" you're referring to there since I didn't reference anything in particular? Maybe earlier link?

I'd venture though that the title of "Retail/OEM" in link above at same price is kinda dodge though. There is no way in hell those sell for the same price - ignoring the fact that selling OEM on internet is dodge in itself.

To each his own...just pointing it out to allow for better decision making.

What? OEM is R250 and retail is R450

It apparently works if you use the Windows 7 key after you have installed Windows 10 - i.e. first install it without a key then use the Win7 key to activate it

Finally, when the installation process is complete and Windows asks for your product key, just enter your old Windows 7/8 code that you extracted earlier. It will work perfectly. Now you have a legitimate copy of Windows 10 installed.
