Thanks for reminding me. I also need to update my will and remove the ex as beneficiary from my RA.

By the way, why do you have so much money in your kids' accounts?
Yes!!! Do that immediately. I also forgot to take mine off my RA. That was the last thing where she was still a beneficiary.

Regarding the money in the kid's accounts. It was part of my Mother's investments that paid out after she passed earlier this year. I and my Father decided to fix it in a Capitec fixed saving account for a while. Will change that when it matures. I know it's not the best instrument for investing atm but that's what we did for the time being.

In my divorce I left the house and left her there so she has a roof. Once the divorce was settled (and she moved out the house) I paid her 16k a month for 8 months for her to get on her feet. There are no kids involved so it made it a bit easier, but like you, I don't want to see her on a street corner struggling.
My divorce was settled in July, but I made the date of registration (for the sale of our house) the 31st of December. We already have a buyer so, that's sorted.

So she and the kids are still living there. I thought that was fair as her salary is less than the bond installments and it will give her time to build up a nice deposit to either buy a cheap flat or save up a few months' rental so long as a buffer. So I'm still currently paying the bond as well as my rental.

I so badly want a ****ing new PC but now have to wait until December. It's hard being a man in this country, man

Ja nee. Every e-mail, letter, phone call, etc. gets billed. I was impressed with htf they kept track of everything that needs to be billed. Time for a lawyer is money, literally!
The bill I got , hmm , lets just say it was insane. In my next life I want to be a divorce lawyer.

edit: And it was not that many comms to the lawyer or ex. Kept it to minimum...

To be fair though... Men's identities are splurged all over the news in such cases where the man is the culprit. Or usually just because they are famous.

So not sure about that anonymity.
