OKOK

MTN prepaid:
1. How do you check your balance (prepaid)? *141#, or *555#, or dial 141 and follow voice prompts.
2. How do you check your data bundle balance (prepaid)? Same
3. How do you buy data bundles (prepaid)? Buy regular airtime, then dial 141 and follow voice prompts to buy a data bundle from airtime balance.

You can probably do these things by phoning a service desk ... if you're a masochist. No web tools that I know of for prepaid.

The E220 doesn't support voice calls but does support USSD commands.

The E220 does support USSD commands. You can issue them through hyperterminal or ginggs' tool here. It's just the supplied software that doesn't yet support USSD.

As for voice calls ... you can always swap the SIM into a cellphone *sigh*

Tried Hyperterminal. It says dialing then no answer. Will give gings tool a try.

Edited the MTN section half way.

Apparently you can issue ussd commands through hyperterminal but I have not got this to work. If you have got it to work, please post the method / settings:)

Please post additional info so I can complete my first post.

Maybe you can sticky this thread, Mr / Ms Mod? Please:D

It looks like these commands will only work if you have a direct contract with Vodacom. I have tried them but I get thumbs down everytime

Vodacom should when they sign up re-sellers give them the proper tools for the new bussines that they are getting via the re-sellers. Eish man why should we battle so much. All they wanna do ------------ sorry Masters,v3g I will stop " en hou my bek " :D

The USSD commands above (in the Vodacom section) are for prepaid not for contract.

I'm pretty sure *111# should also work for contract. I'll test it out tomorrow:)

The *111# USSD command does work for Vodacom contract users as well as prepaid. The contract option allows you to check your bundle balance and your account balance.

I am setting up a system that has a Vodacom 1 gig package on a E220 modem, now there is no way you can call and find out what is left, there no phone, and there is no cell number listed so I can hardly log on to the vodacom site and put in a cell phone number I do not have

Also when is the one gig period, is it at the end of the month, or from the date you got the card
