Yeah, I have the owners manual, but there aren't any details about the RDS Radio.

This piece of paper was in the manual, and I tried to enter the radio number 3 times and that is what put it in safe mode

Which number did you enter? That looks unusually long, it is usually 4 or 5 digits. Remove the battery, it will probably reset the radio and try entering the bottom 4 numbers.

Top tip. When buying a stolen car radio - always check that the seller has a radio code for it.

Finally figured it out:

With these RDS radio's once they go into safemode, you have to keep the radio on for at least an hour to unlock it.

Then you enter the 4 digits associated with radio number using the channel buttons at the bottom.

When its fully entered press the scan up button for around 10 seconds and it should unlock the radio.

Good for you.

I had the same problem... Thanks a lot. This saved me a trip to the agencies who would have probably charged me a ridiculous price for such an easy fix. Last time I went to the agencies with a radio problem, i didn't know the code. They wanted to charge me R100 to tell me what it is :-(

That solution sounds like something you accidently unlocked as a kid playing a Nintendo video game in the 90's while mashing buttons
