Chilli sauce reviews

Woolies Habanero Peri-peri is the hottest sauce in my cupboard/fridge at the moment.

I bought this one the other day:

but honestly a bit disappointed - the Woolies habanero still beats it on heat.

And then Joubert & Seuns Orange hot peri-peri sauce is a favorite - can eat it any day. Not much heat but good flavour. My 12-year old son enjoyes the "medium peri-peri" one.

Johnny hexburg throws Raja curry powder into all his sauces, his flavours are horrid and the price he charges is just ludicrous. My go-to filler is Fynbos African ghost pepper sauce. It doesn't burn (me) but the flavour is good.

Price is also very good. I usually buy around 20 bottles at a time to keep me going. You can always just add some reaper into it to bump up the heat.

The wife and I stumbled across a sauce in Cape Town, we called it our Honeymoon sauce. It was amazing, so I decided to buy some again recently. Only to discover... it's a white label of the above. Except 20R more, ****ers.

Picked these up yesterday. The star scream has a nice pear fruity taste, with a nice bite. I even put some in my salad.

The Tiago is a bog standard habanero sauce.

I like the Habanero even though the heat kills me when I get to the end of my meal 😂😂

Haha, me too. Keep on coming back to it on anything I eat - although I try to only dab a bit.

Usually when I start hiccuping my kids laugh (or roll their eyes).

Was shaking my bottle of Woolies Habarnero last night to add a bit to my curry - only to discover that the cap was not closed. Hot sauce everywhere, including on some of the left-over pizza in the middle of the counter.

Worst thing is that kids didn't want to touch it so I had to clean it up myself.

Just a question one that Checkers red and green sauces. Look I am not a fan of extremely hot/spicy stuff, but like just a small tingle of spice in the background.
Now the green Checkers sauce I just add a drop or two and its more than enough. But the red one I can throw the whole bottle over and hardly taste any spice.
So are the green much hotter than the red or can you be immune to some sort of spice?

I found a random sauce at a random shop and it was great. Contacted the guys who made it and bought about 6 of all of their range.

Tiago.

Highly recommended, mild to atomic (not for me, but it is Carolina reaper based)

I bought the jalapeño sauce this morning found it tastes plasticy and did not enjoy it.
Will not be trying the rest of the flavours.
I enjoyed the wellington habenero sauce but haven't seen that at the shops.

I've only seen Checkers sold these.

I previously enjoyed a bottle of the red one quite a bit, so bought both. Tastes like they adjusted the heat on the red, definitely a bit hotter than it used to be.
I'm not that fond of the Jalapeno one. Will eat it, but Tabasco Green is still the best Jalapeno sauce for me.

Decent local sauce. Red pepper is a much better alternative to tabasco and the hab has a nice flavour.
