The US House of Representatives passed the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act on December 3, legislation which calls for the Donald Trump administration to impose sanctions against China over allegations that Beijing has detained millions of Muslim-majority Uyghurs in the western region of Xinjiang.

To drum up support for the sanctions bill, Western governments and media outlets have portrayed the People’s Republic as a human rights violator on par with Nazi Germany. Republican Rep. Chris Smith, for instance, denounced the Chinese government for what he called the “mass internment of millions on a scale not seen since the Holocaust,” in “modern-day concentration camps.”

The claim that China has detained millions of ethnic Uyghurs in its Xinjiang region is repeated with increasing frequency, but little scrutiny is ever applied. Yet a closer look at the figure and how it was obtained reveals a serious deficiency in data.

While this extraordinary claim is treated as unassailable in the West, it is, in fact, based on two highly dubious “studies.”

Just leaving this here on how far the Chinese have gone regarding tracking the Uyghur's. Dahua technical documentation indicates that specific cameras have real time Uyghur detection capabilities.

I will say however that these kinds of accusations are often lodged against anyone slightly to the right of JoBama whether they are actually true or not.

the point here is that there is a big anti china, weapons of mass destruction narrative building up, especially from the US Conservatives, but the numbers being thrown around in the media is coming from dubious sources. I am also fed up with the far right narrative being over used, but having actual Nazis in the organisation where the data is coming from...

Sources are sometimes as dubious as they are perceived to be.

As for the numbers themselves..... are they not always admitted to being thumbsucks due to the nature of the isolationist Chinese regime? Information is not allowed to freely either enter or exit that hell with gilded bars.

It's always the case with genocides, war or pandemics, the data is often based on dubious estimates, because regimes don't keep good records.

What I would like people to consider though is that we should think twice before we decide to go and invade or attack another country. The lableak theory is another one of these stories that mixes truths, half truths and a lot of propaganda.

I am no supporter of the CCP and its methods, but the Uighur story has a lot of holes in it, for example many of them are used to "fight ISIS" in Syria.

Dude, China is evil, it has not really changed since Tienanmen Square, it's trying to steal it's way to the world economic top, it tried to pseudo-colonize Africa, it needs to be opposed because it's like a ravenous dog that cannot stop eating.

It also is trying to annex all the ocean and Islands in what it is calling the South China Sea and will eventually set it's sights on Australia, Japan and all other Islands right after.

No one needs to lie about a China that has implemented the first phases of a big brother system and will starve entire cities to death to stop outbreaks if it has to.... the CCP only cares about itself and does not value human life.
