China's electric car industry is crumbling

Chinese electric-car sales fell for a second straight month after the government scaled back subsidies, the latest sign that one of the final pillars of strength in the world’s largest automobile market is crumbling.

Sales of new energy vehicles — all-electric, fuel-celled autos and plugin hybrids — declined 16% from a year earlier to 85,000 units in August, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said Wednesday.

Tesla is busy building Tesla Gigafactory 3 at the moment and could potentially start production in November 2019, with potential capacity for 250,000 cars a year.

How do you write an article about electric vehicles in China and exclude the fact that the largest, successful electric car company in the world is building a new factory there and then say it's crumbling.

It's literally the inverse.
