Chrome and proxy password

I was wondering if anybody has the same problem.

My chrome does not save my proxy user or password. Every time I start chrome I have to enter it again, but what makes it worse is that chrome seems to "lose" my session with the proxy server and I have to type in my user name / password again. This happens a lot when I am browsing gmail or the vodacom4me site.

Anybody else?

Chrome uses Internet Explorer's proxy settings. Although it shouldn't make any difference, try setting them through there. Also are you seeing the same behavior in IE?

I don't really use IE but when I do on occasion it picks up my credentials from my windows login and I don't have the same problem.

I assume you aren't using any proxy switching type plugins that might cause this problem?

The only one that might cause something to happen is AdThwart but I doubt it

You say this happens on GMail, does your proxy server support HTTPS? If so goto the "Advanced" options and check the box "Use same proxy server for all protocols".

Are you using NTLM? Because that's on the list of known issues, here's the bug report.

Which build are you on. On the Dev build you can try adding "--winhttp-proxy-resolver" as a startup switch.

I see they've finally added in NTLM support into the Chromium dev version. Been running it for a few weeks and its working great. With the new build you don't need any startup switches.

@Verloand what build are you running? The latest Dev is 5.0.375.9, if not maybe consider switching to dev.

Ok, I was running 5.0.342.9 beta and have upgraded to 5.0.375.17 now and it's looking good. Didn't even ask me for my proxy user / pass when I started it so looks like NTLM is working.

I've been using Chrome and Opera pretty much exclusively for the past few years anyway
