Chrome - java/flash issue?

My knowledge is limited so hopefully someone can identify my problem. On Chrome certain website elements have stopped working. When ABSA loads it gets stuck on the last loading screen. On Wrike the project descriptions don't load. The poll on Football365 doesn't show results after I vote. Etc etc.

Should I reinstall Java or is it something else?

Did you perhaps disable JavaScript?

I didn't. I just opened the plugins in Chrome and don't see it there. Installed the latest Java and it's still not under plugins (from what I can tell). Grrr.

I just went to verify Java web page and it gives me this:

The Chrome browser does not support NPAPI plug-ins and therefore will not run all Java content. Switch to a different browser (Internet Explorer or Safari on Mac) to run the Java plug-in.

Why would Absa need Java? Chrome hasn't supported Java for a while and Firefox is also going to be removing support soon, modern web pages shouldn't need to use Java. Use IE if you need to use legacy pages.

Tell that to FNB, RMB and Sars.

Well I'm not sure what the problem is and just thought it might be Java. I had no issues with Chrome until a couple weeks ago. Yes, IE works but I'd rather figure out what has gone wrong with Chrome for certain website elements to stop working.

That's why I reckon he means JavaScript and not Java

Chrome disabled NPAPI plugins since ages ago...

Move to a different bank like Capitec or FNB.

Whatever has happened to my Chrome happened within the last month. It's on my desktop and my laptop. The problem is across a number of websites.

Absa
That football365 poll element I mentioned earlier
The project description element in the project management platform Wrike
The auto suggestion/selection of tags when making posts in WordPress
Etc etc.

Never had any issues until a few weeks ago.

Nope, got a very good tax consultant for that and his fees are very reasonable.
Your tax consultant uses flash then

It's unfortunate but the forms they use is built with it, so too the new Home Affairs stuff. If only HTML5 was a thing back in 2007

I don't have answer for you but I find that I get the same issues as you do on my PC (Win10 Pro), using Edge, Chrome and Firefox.

Looking for some commonality at the moment between all three.

Java script is enabled, so is flash, as both are still required by many websites.

It is a bit of a pipe dream to believe the entire World out there will willy-nilly adapt their web pages just because someone decides Java and Flash is no longer "in" in the Browser world.

No the problem is something else which we are not aware of at the moment.

For me Edge and IE aren't experiencing the same issues. Except Facebook being slow on any browser I use. But certain elements not loading seems to be only Chrome for me.
