Chrome vs Firefox

I have been testing Chrome for about 2-3 weeks now and I'm very, very impressed.

It's got all the add-ons/extensions that Firefox has (the reason I would not go Opera, Konqueror or any other browser) and it is sleek and fast.
After getting used to it, it feels like Firefox is a heavy piece of bloatware.

The only issue I so far had is with YouTube videos, each time I have to clear the cache before I can stream another video without interruptions.

I predict that Firefox is going to take a heavy hit in the next year or so. If they do not drastically rethink their approach then Chrome is going to rule the OS market.

What is your take on this?

I have been waiting for a stable release for Arch and I was quite attached to my Firefox, so yes, I'm a late starter.

The only complaint I have against Chrome is that I don't have the option to show a title and status bar.

It's always the first thing I do after installing Ubuntu - replace Firefox with Chrome. Enough said.

@ MyWorld ... I tend to agree with you. I am really hoping FF can "come to the party".

Actually I switched back to FF after numerous issues with Chrome. Perhaps they've sorted them out but I'm happy where I am now.

And Firefox 3.6 is excellent. :D

I tried out FF 3.6 but wasn't happy with it. Decided to try Chrome instead but it had a few niggles I wasn't 100% happy with (still a pretty good browser though). Now I'm running FF 3.7 Alpha and it is awesome! Lightning fast, stable, great features, and you can still use your add-ons. Waaay better than 3.6. So don't give up on the old fox yet :)

It kinda does look ugly, can be made a bit better with some themes. I do find it looks a whole lot better on vista/7 with the glass effect.

I keep Opera installed bcos of the ability to resume downloads that go down cos of my crappy Voda connection.

Does Chrome have this ability of add-on? haven't used it much.
FF is starting to be too chunky and resource hungry although it does what I need best for work.

I'm still using FF mostly for add-ons. Although I use chrome on my secondary PC. I like the speed of it. Still not that compelling that I made a permanent switch.

Use a download manager?

Does Chrome have an add-on like FastestFox?

I only want the "Endless Pages" function and I will consider switching.

I'm not sure if the feature has always been there, but you can turn on titles and status bars.
Customize and control Google Chrome --> Options --> Personal Stuff --> Use system title bar and borders.

Sorted :)

Chrome just wins.

What I like, especially on the netbook, is the space that you win on your screen, and yet you miss nothing from the title bar, the smart bookmark bar that only appears on a new tab opened with your latest tabs displayed, lovely.

I ditched that fat bastard called FF a long time ago. Chows way to much resources and it's dog slow.
