Is the font in Chromium absolutely tiny for you guys as well? Especially on MyBB and other forums?

Any idea how to fix it?

I tried changing the default font size but it only changes normal text on websites, the font size of forums posts is still way too small. I tried finding a NoSquint type extension but they either have no effect or just zoom the whole page not just text.

Google Chrome in Win 7 doesn't have this problem.

This is the main thing keeping me away from Chromium, that, and the fact that finding high quality extensions is a mission. If Only FF would stop being so slow.

I've sat for hours to try and get the fonts right for Chrome in Ubuntu, but in the end just gave up and installed Windows 7 again.

I use Chrome for a lot of things, Chrome-to-Phone, MightyText, Gmail new mail, Amazon wish list, downloads, weather - the list goes on, so Slowfox was never an option for me.

Good luck if you manage to sort it out, but I doubt if you'll have any luck.

What is to small, the default font seems fine here.

You can always use ctrl-mousewheel to make fonts bigger/smaller.

Ctrl+mousewheel zooms the whole page, including images. I only want to zoom the text like in FF. It zooms somewhat acceptably on MyBB quite because the rectangles of the posts still stay within the screen (although the blue bars etc. become very large) but on many other forums the posts go off the edge. I hate sidescrolling, especially on forums. Back to FF until they sort out this nonsense.

Have you tried "customise font" and then changing "minimum font size" to something like 15?

Do you have the m$ fonts installed? The forum sw seems to want Arial specifically on many sites

I didn't even notice the "minimum font size" slider until now.

I initially just moved the "Standard Font" slider to 15. This then increased the size of every web page to 15 except forums. This time I did the same but I also moved the "Minimum Font Size" slider to 15 as well (it was initially at 9). Now forum fonts (on MyBB and others) are comfortably readable too :)

Something must be up with either Chrome & Chromium/Forum software to render posts at the minimum font size but anyway problem solved. Thanks.

I haven't experienced this issue with Chrome (Stable) in Fedora at all, I haven't tried the unstable chromium builds in a while though.

I'm using Chrome ATM, only because it shows up before Chromium in the KDE application launcher and has a more colourful logo :p

I've never noticed any appreciable differences between the two though so I continue to use them interchangeably.

I wonder why Firefox (and any browser for that matter) is fast on some systems, like mine, and slow on others. Chrome, Firefox and Opera all run smoothly.
Maybe it's the user and not the system that's causing the problem.:p

Oi! Watch it buddy! :p

FF is smooth but will hang for a few seconds once or twice every hour or so. Changing tabs isn't always instantaneous like in Chrome. Not a train smash but still enough to cause a bit of nerd rage.

I used to find this VERY annoying when I was running my win7 work machine with 2gb memory - I popped 5gb in there now and it no longer has that hang issue. Its still slower than chrome to start up and load sites, but I have to use it for some of my work site that don't like chrome.
