1 - If she is found guilty, she will have to repay whatever has been spent on her behalf
2 - If not guilty, the state will need to pay as it has dragged its feet for too long

I'm not a fan but I'd rather let them stick to their job in a public service capacity and create policies by which we should manage a country.
I'm not saying ban public service, just the useless politicians. They're only in it for themselves.

Whoever make the policies and laws becomes a politician, unless every man is allowed to govern his household the way he sees fit and it's survival of the fittest outside and we just trust that people are civilised enough to coexist.

I've said it before but I'll say it again. There should be a bottom up structure, not a top down structure.

True, I think we don't really have a problem with politicians, we have a problem with the system, the politicians are just using the flawed system to their advantage.

There are good administrators in government who are prepared to do their jobs diligently, but they are accountable to politicians who can make their lives very miserable and there is no recourse for that, a politician is almost 100% sure they are coming back next term, so an employee who gets cheeky would be swiftly dealt with, if they go to court just throw taxpayers money at them but they are never coming back.

Sounds a bit like South Africa you're describing...
