Before I got prepaid, I used to have thee 4 options on a single bill :

Rates
Water
Electricity
Sewerage

We're looking at a house and we asked for the bill, she sent two bills - a separate Eskom one and then the below :

Rates
Water
Sewerage

Is there any difference as to cost ?
Eskom direct is better, I guess ?

Yeah Eskom direct normally has better rates from what I understand. No markup from the municipality.

I am getting a handful of levy invoices, and its directly linked to COJ, which get power from cityPower.

If you get direct via cityPower you save roughly 15% (after the new July 2021 increases)

Direct from Eskom, not City power.

Then I don't understand? CoJ provides power through CP who in turn get 90% from Eskom. There are only 2 providers in Johannesburg, CP or Eskom

Well, we soon will get power directly from Cp, having a saving of 15%!

I couldnt understand it either as CP powers COJ!

I will keep you posted

That's the other thing I don't get, 15% is City Powers markup from Eskom? Are you sure you weren't with some 3rd party prepaid?
