Hi,

I am trying to pay my rates bill (after finally getting one 2 years down the line)

I see i need to just add them via the public recipient option, however, on fnb there are two options.
One of them is city of johannesburg metro. Any one know if this is the right one?

I have asked fnb and city of johannesburg, and am still waiting for replies 2 weeks later

Might be time to pick up the phone and ask, ask, ask until you find out.

Why only mention one option and not the other? Do you favour the one option more?

Not sure if this is of any help:

To be honest I find it easier to just go to pick n Pay with my statement and pay at the till (chekers too but have to use money market counter) when im buying groceries etc.

Hmm
I should do this - do you earn ebucks and smart shopper points for doing this?!

Oh, and I pay into "City of Johannesburg Metro" at the moment.

Not sure, I guess you would earn ebucks if paying with your FNB credit card?
Smart shopper no you dont earn it falls under 3rd party payments:
The only transactions for which you do not earn smart shopper points are fuel, tobacco and tobacco related products, PnP Gift card and top up, money transfer, prescription pharmaceutical goods and third party services and payments which include, but are not limited to electricity, USA Visa tokens, Axxess ADSL tokens, Hollard Insurance, U-Kash, SAA Cycle voucher, Austrian Visa tokens, Just Surf, Retail Bonds, all lottery tickets, transactions through PnP Travel, SAA and bus tickets, Multichoice, traffic fines, Splashout Mall Cards and pension payment. Pick n Pay reserves the right at any time to exempt certain products from earning smart shopper points at its discretion.

Anyone know it it's possible to set up a recurring card deduction for CoJ rates?
