I have done a sub-division of a small farm just east of Pretoria. Before I can sell and transfer the stands I must get permission from the City of Tshwane. One of the conditions is that I must get an Electricity connection from Eskom. Some of future owners do not want Eskom Power as they want to go off-grid.

We have requested for an exemption, but the City insist that we get an Eskom connection. So I must now spend all this money for something that will not be used :X3:

What about other future future owners that might?

Also township planing regulations and all that. I am assuming who ever did the feasibility study for you, told you of what the council will be requiring? What did the Tshwane Town Planner for your area say when you went to see him or her about your proposed sub division plan?

My farm was originally under Bronkhorstspruit, and they didn't had this requirement. I actually sold a stand without an Elektriese connection.

Also, a future owner can apply for a connection if they want one.
