Tshwane cancels load rotation plan — and reveals when all areas should have power

The City of Tshwane has backtracked on a plan to implement load rotation as a way to provide intermittent power to areas in the metro that have been left without electricity since seven power pylons collapsed on Sunday night.

The city also said it expected to restore power to all areas affected by the outage by Thursday evening.

A power station is a little harder to fix then the pylons I would gather.

I'm sure I saw a tweet somewhere with some numbnuts thinking they could replace the pylons in 18 hours or something... cos they just have them stored somewhere obviously.

It's the sad truth that on average we south africans are as dumb as bricks and self crippling.

As the first pylons are going up CoT has issued a statement that there is a problem with Rand Water and that we may be in for a couple of weeks of water supply problems as an encore.

Those monopoles make sense. No steel to steal and probably cheaper to erect.

Another five pylons have collapsed in Tshwane, this time in the Hammanskraal area.
