We've got terrible latency at work - >300ms first hop.
ISP says the exchange is at full capacity - maxing out at 130.69M - issue logged with Telkom.

Is anyone else having trouble?

@ Paddo:

Which ISP if I may ask gave you those figures, I am a IT Engineer in the Mont area and service many clients in that area, I can tell you that you are definitely correct that that exchange is over utilized I have just never been able to get proof form an ISP before WRT to that.

welcome to the new mission in my life.

I have a meeting tomorrow with Praveen Naidoo and Bashier Sallie. Pinky is out of the country at the moment, so Im quite happy to be dealing with the acting CEO rather.

Dude, could you get info about wether or not Constantia (Cape Town WCNT) will be getting 10mb speeds anytime soon (or at least if they plan to run MSANS out there for 20-40mb). The exchanges here service a heck of a lot of customers... I really badly await some form of upgrade.

They are putting in IMAXs all the time and if you order a 4 meg and above line they put you on that if it has IMax in the exchange you are on..they are also moving the 4 meg and above on to IMAX where possible that is why some people have changed to DSL2

they first need to fix the mess with the 10mb and get the backhaul back to what its supposed to be!!!

Looks like we're back to normal since ~Friday 3pm. No feedback on what the remedy was.

On Rhodes drive, Newlands, they installed, tested and are currently running a MSAN - the speeds are limited to 10mb. DOesnt help that Clareinch is at full capacity though...
