8ta and Telkom Mobile published an advertisement in the Sunday Times, Rapport and other Sunday Newspapers today showing that they have the best mobile broadband network.

Instead of making claims themselves, they simply used an article by MyBroadband. This article contains an image with all the mobile operators from us – where 8ta is in front.

Clever marketing from them :D

They also claim the best prepaid per second call rates, which is a blatant lie. I don't think is clever, rather misleading, false advertising and in long-term stupid.

They can't claim the best network with little coverage at present.

Hardly clever. Not to mention that I can't see any credit going to MyBB, although obviously it might be in very small print somewhere.

And what is "the" broadband survey? Surely it should be "a" broadband survey. Talk about misleading.

It says "MyBroadband" in the article, right at the top. It was a front-page article on MyBroadband, with a survey done by MyBroadband. Moaners.

I disagree they are the best prepaid per second call rates but with the double airtime but you forfeit in 7 days if you don't make use of it.

8ta / Telkom = value for money. I made use of the 8ta more promotion and transferred all airtime to PSB data promo sim card 60gig. Received R1800 free airtime and made use of the airtime that is R900 worth of free airtime divide R1800 / 2 = R900 call is nearly R2 per minute.

Do your homework before hand 8ta charge R1,90 to any network and if you make use of 8ta more package, R50 airtime you receive another R50 airtime to make use in 7days. That actually means 95 cent per call if you were to use the full value of airtime received R100.

It is marketing trick. I prefer MTN and recently introduced Vodacom R1.20, don't need to worry about losing bonuses. In addition you can't transfer your bonus airtime, nor use it for bundle. Besides, how you compare Cell C 99c/m when considering recharge bonus? They clearly lie.

In addition I can't change tariff on my PSB data promo plan.
Your current tariff plan does not allow any changes.
1) Return to main menu
2) Exit

I just purchased another sim card 8ta more and now you can load 60GIG promo, 2gig promo on 8ta more sim card but if you not within reach of 8ta/telkom mobile you will roam on their partner and get screwed normal rates will add screen shoots .

Transferred the airtime that I loaded example R500 per day is the limit to transfer. So over 4 days I successfully transferred R1800. Made use of the free R1800 airtime to make phone calls etc a pity you cannot use the free airtime received to phone overseas. 8ta saved me easy R300, had to make several calls to call centre and being on hold for 35minutes can be frustrating, and don't have a home telephone line. I know it's a marketing gimmick if you unhappy with 8ta offering complain to the advertising authority and state it's misleading customers to thinking calls are 95 cent per minute but in fact they're are R1,90 and if you don't make use of the 8ta more airtime within a week you forfeit the 95 cent call rate.

You do complaining yourself, I will use my brain and subscribe to services which suit me. So I will ccntinue to use 8ta 2+1 (60+60 is too much for my needs), but for calls I will use anything else, all of them (MTN, Voda and in particular Cell C, offer better - no bull#$it) call rates, maybe except international, depends on destignation.

I've re-read the posts made by the two of you numerous times, and still have no idea what either of you are trying to say :D
