Clicks and Dischem delivery services compared

MyBroadband compared the new Dischem DeliverD service with Clicks delivery and was pleasantly surprised by both options.

Dischem DeliverD service offers quick same-day deliveries within an hour window, similar to services like Checkers Sixty60 and Pick n Pay asap!.

I tried Clicks' delivery service last year, ordered household stuff, toiletries etc. All of this was in stock at a store five minutes away but was shipped from Johannesburg to Cape Town. It doesn't seem very efficient to ship toilet paper across the country.

I had a lot of trouble with clicks.co.za today, cannot remove an item in my basket, using both Firefox and Chrome. Actually had to call them to remove an item from my basket.
Then payment woes -- received a confirmation SMS to which I responded, but payment stuck in limbo. Called their helpline again, they cannot do anything, and suggested that they clear my basket. I did not feel like going through the site for an hour again, so I just left it like that -- stuck in limbo. :(

If developers still struggle to code an e-commerce site properly in 2023, it is bad. Not testing it properly is even worse. Won't be doing much online shopping with them anymore.

I'm guessing you never order online from KFC.

They have a little virtual 'thief' that follows you around and removes the first item that you selected from the shopping basket and then replaces it with the second item, so in effect only allowing you 1 item in the basket at any time.

This happens a few times every week and has been going on for years.

How can nobody else have noticed it?
