Ehrenreich told the Cape Times on Wednesday that, while informal residents should do what they could to acquire more land lawfully, they should also stake their claims for land from their neighbours, many of whom live on "huge farms".

Where are these "huge farms' in Hout Bay? Maybe he should drive around the area and see there isn't a lot of land in that little town left to develop.

Disa River Flood Plein?

Where are these "huge farms' in Hout Bay? Maybe he should drive around the area and see there isn't a lot of land in that little town left to develop.

A couple of pieces of land close to the Disa River considered a flood plein at the lower part of Hout Bay (Below Valley Road) which used to be mostly vegetable farming in the old days or perhaps he is referring to a couple of smallholdings also close to the Disa River which is mostly horses on Valley Road etc.
As the report doesn't specify, it is hard to say.

Personally I think this man is daft for even making these sorts of statements in the first place and if he is referring to the pieces of ground I mentioned above then he hasn't seen what can happen when the Disa River comes down in flood.

Nobody is allowed to build next to the river.
Is there perhaps a By Election in Hout Bay that these sorts of statements come to the fold.

Another politician putting the people in the water in the Western Cape.

Edit: Isn't this the fellow that led the march on Parliament last year that caused so much damage to property and the Mayor and Premier had to get a Court Interdict preventing any further marches through the narrow streets of Cape Town.
