LSM spat something new out at me today - it told me it had detected a Transparent Proxy, and that it couldn't test Upload speed anymore, but it should still be able to do download speed.

Has anyone else had this LSM message box popup during Calibration?

If there is a transparent proxy I will not be too impressed, I need my content to be live. But I will start my LSM run later today and see if I get the same message.

Well it's official, I cannot get LSM to work anymore - after this new Transparent Proxy thing LSM just sits about doing a never ending Calibrating Upload Payload Size thing - forever. I have killed the process at least 15 times today & each time it does the same thing

Erm, forgive my ignorance but since when was ICMP CPU or RAM intenstive? I think the quartz chip in my watch could probably ping something fine if modified?

As for the question on transparent proxies...I dont beleive there is one. Not only to remote web-servers see your workstation IP on an HTTP connection (i've checked) but there's also web-sites out there at can test for stealth/masquerading proxies by giving you a page with a unique number. You then flash your IE cache and re-visit the page. If you were being proxied the number wouldnt change, but it does meaning that nothing in between you and the server cached the page.

And I doubt there would be any reason to run a stealth proxy that wasnt caching as I dont see what other reason you would need one for?
