You did the New Year's #Open2017 ? Entered the New Year with a #! I guess :)
Nope I slept as well; probably will find time to watch the 4 hour recorded video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkbTPCHcCyI

However most of the festive season including new year I've spent some time writing code for some new functional articles I have planned for my blog; now just to find time to write the articles...

Better than me anyway, I slept (or tried to) as I was down with the flu

That's always the pits...hope you're feeling better.

I hardly ever suffer too much with flu since I discovered Pseudoephedrine (e.g. Advil CS, Sudafed, ...). Literally a tablet or 2 a day (during flu symptoms) keeps the doctor away.

Learnt a tonne off this forum, keep it up all!

Any relation to CodeFunc in Sandton (Jan Smuts)?
Nope unrelated, needed a name for a functional programming oriented the blog, picked this one re:
  • Funk / Func - word play re the fluster that is usually associated with functional code.
  • ...but also Funk (the music) : soul / rythym of FP code.

Some objectives: Explore what machine learning is about
Using: At this point, I do not know. Probably Python, C++, R.

Going to be a tough one, as I am going to start my 2nd undergrad this year - BSc Applied Mathematics and Statistics - whilst working full-time.

Ugh. I do not have fond memories of this.

Weird that CodeFunc never reserved that name on GitHub. Their loss...Sell it to them :D
