So he migrated since Bulawayo was the capital of the Zulu kingdom. Point remains. He, along with almost every nation of the time, had no respect for the borders of others. The modus operandi of the majority of the time was conquest and claiming land and resources for yourself and your kind. Colonialism.
Bulawayo was never the capital of the Zulus.

LOL the capital was called kwaBulawayo, but it is not the Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. It was in KZN. :crylaugh:

He is speaking English, to Bulawayo is correct. English does not have capital letters in the middle of the word.

Keep up man. He's clearly talking about the Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, not the Bulawayo that was the capital of the Zulu Kingdom.

EDIT:

Nice try with the ninja edit Heavyonthemagick. Too bad I already quoted the original.

Well, the problem is thinking that colonization=white or =european.

Black people (bantu) would not be in South Africa if it was not for colonialism. They are colinizers themselves. Unless you are a hunter gatherer, you are the descendent of a colonizer. I hate these double standards south africans apply.

+1 -> why? it does not fit the intended narrative. Simply put, the umlungu was just better at it than the black tribes at that point.

Yes, edited, however, besides the point.
Tell us about this colonialism that was different to the modus operandi of the time by everyone else.
What was Shaka's method of negotiation and trade for land under his control (or under the control of non-zulus)?

Yes, edited, not so much ninja. However, besides the point not?

I never said it was. I was simply correcting a factual error.

She's talking nonsense. All those positives could have been introduced without colonialism, through trade, sharing of knowledge, alliances and mutual respect. The idea that the oppression and subjugation through the establishment of colonies was necessary for development is nonsense.

O like when Piet Retief tried to trade/negotiate with Dingaan?

Cool, got it :p

Yes I was. That laughing emoji doesn't change the fact that you were talking nonsense about Shaka's birthplace, then followed by a feeble attempt to cover up your mistake with a late edit.

Neither does your LOL change the fact that Shaka wasn't born in KZN. Bear in mind that he was assassinated nearly 200 years ago. Try to keep up and at least live up to your own pedantism.
You use edit to cover up mistakes. I use it to correct them.

Let's see your sources that state that he wasn't born in what would now be KZN, since the established facts say he was.

Sorry, you fail your own pedantism test. Go and read what you typed. Ninja edit doesn't change it.
Back on topic, what's the difference between the way the zulu nation operated in the 17/1800s and the 'colonialists' in terms of integration and looking after your own.

As much as King Shaka Zulu is hailed as a Zulu success story by black people

I consider him a Zulu success story (He had his crazy moments, but the best people in history did). Most fail to realise just how different times were back then, bloody, violent and awesome.
