Politicians need to realise Trump changed politics/lying.

Changed it by championing lying at a every turn?

Yes, I realise you don't really given your religious like views as driven by the political side you choose to support. *People really need to realise that the worst thing they can do is support a politician or ideology as if it were a sports team. You just end up defending the indefensible.

It seems to be working wonders for Zille, all her supporters are up in arms even going as far as talking about an impending split in the DA, some even vowing never to vote for DA.

Well a lot of us is seeing how this pans out. A DA without principles is the same as the ANC.

Odd statement to make, when did they lose their principles?

When they started endorsing ANC policies instead of actual liberal ones. This trend started before Maimane took the reigns.

Well that would make it easier to vote one's conscience at least. When there's a clear leader in %-of-votes standing against the ANC, one sometimes has to begrudgingly support them even if you don't agree with their policies.

If they split up and all opposition parties become equal again, you might as well vote for the one you actually believe in.

Or South Africans are just not interested in politicians who are going out of their way to find creative ways to justify oppressive concepts like colonialism and apartheid.
You're reading what you want to hear. It's what the sheeple do.

You are assuming that the factions will be an equal split? I see a small number of disgruntled Zille supporters leaving with her, if ever it comes to that, which I highly doubt.

why do you as a person today, take so much offence at what happened years ago which you have/had no control over.

should I too take offence at everyone(group) that mistreated people of the past i relate to?

how far back are we allowed to go?

this is stupid, ill just be pissed off all the time.

Nah not even an equal split, I don't think any of the parties are big enough to truly survive a split of any kind, except the ANC.

or rather, put it this way: if the DA loses enough ground to fall behind the EFF, all bets are off

He lacks experience. He still needs his hand held by the DA old guard.

True, he does lack experience, at least he is good enough to pick up on any nonsense disguised as well meaning sentiments, like the recent Zille utterances, I think in this short space of time he has learnt quite a lot about the party he is leading and it's supporters.

Why are you insisting on misreading her? There was no well-meaning sentiment whatsoever, it was plain fact and nothing more. It was the sheeple who decided she was making a statement for political gain.

Nothing to do with Zille and everything with Mmusi turning it into a blue ANC. DA has been losing its loyal supporters for a long time now.

Trump never insulted the electorate directly, iirc.
Neither did Zille. Insult is taken not given. At some point he caused practically everyone of the electorate to take offense.

The principle still stands. Even if it's just one person that person will go with principles they actually believe in rather than just voting DA because it's the "opposition".

What she said was correct.

Saying it was stupid.

Because 'offended'.

No it was stupid.

There's a reason, employees on Twitter put "views are my own" on their bios.

Like I said, it's been covered before but because it's Zille you wanna cry.
