Well, considering the wound is pus filled and there's no prospect of it healing before the pus is drained, ignoring the wound isn't going to help.

And by that I mean that victimhood identity based politics has taken root in this country and we have no hope for a united future until it has been put in the ground. And the only way to do that is to call it out for what it is and to grit your teeth against the response while you do it.
