I am yes, black people here, not so much - if some have benefitted, they are beneficiaries of the fall of colonialism.

What about black people that enslaved white people, free pass? You never hear about that or the muslim slave trade...

Does’t change the fact that she is 100% correct. My biases are of no concern to her statement.

Your judgement that she is 100% correct is your bias. It's your opinion based on your biases

And another spectacular own goal for the DA! LADDUUUUMMAAA!!!

Not gonna flog this dead-horse topic again but from a pure politicking point of view I have to wonder just what the hell Zille is thinking. Elections are around the corner. The ANC has a chance of a better image now that Zuma's gone, Malema has started making noise again and a chance to play the oppressed hero courtesy of Afriforum. The DA is in for a serious wake-up next year if they don't get their act together.

I wonder if Zille is not trying to intentionally sabotage the DA under Maimane's leadership.

So in your opinion there was absolutely NOTHING good that came out of colonialism? Nothing nothing nothing? Everything that happened during that time was the worst of the worst?

Not Zille's fault most of the population have zero critical thinking skills and don't understand the term 'nuance'.

She even highlighted that there was extreme wrongs during colonialism. But in the same breath we should not forget what it brought us. In no way is she saying slavery was good, but it brought with it Western ideas and thinking which has now been instilled in our society and the reason we can thrive in a modern world. If not, Africa would have been what exactly?

This is actually one that the DA got right. People need the truth. Not just PC BS. Anybody that has a problem with this would never have voted DA in the first place. Those people like C4cat vote EFF for the land issue and because they hate white people or they vote ANC for struggle credentials. Nothing that Zille says will change that.

Whether she is right or not is besides the point, she should have the common sense to know that saying it will further damage the DA's already ailing reputation.

Zille is bored. Somebody find her a man and a job. Oh wait...

Any body who supports her views of colonialism is just a cretin... as she is. Birds of a feather. Even her own party has disowned her asss...

This ^. Why can people not get this ^?

If you want Jewish people to vote for you, you don't go and look for the positives of the Holocaust.

Enjoy getting steamrolled in the elections and becoming yet another irrelevant party in SA politics.

I'm not voting DA for other reasons. I predict Cope would do a lot better next year.
