For argument's sake, how would you? The colonizers brought with them the tools to record history, the locals relied on telling stories.
I didn't make any claims about what SA was like, Swa did, which is why I asked.

Not a single one of them being African. But wait, let's just ignore that SA was a bloody cesspool of violence when the colonialists arrived.
The world was a cesspool of violence. It still is, though other places have mellowed down a bit since the mid 20th century.

Yes, the African countries were all subject to colonialism, what's your point? How would you know what SA was like before the colonialists arrived?
Oh we know. It's only the ignorant disputing it. Indeed many countries have these things without colonialism, we call them the colonisers. Those that don't get colonised. It's as simple as that.

Technically, Liberia was created by former slaves. Some of the governing elite can trace their ancestry to US slaves.
The local people were colonised by freed slaves. And discrimination was rife. That's what triggered one or more of the coups

Jup. So not colonized but created by colonialists.
Technically.

There is about 10 countries all and all that has not been colonized at all.
Part of history, not much we can do about it but learn.

In the end, Helen will not need the ANC or anyone else ... the DA will retract ...becoming a spent national political party....consolidating as a regional political force, the EFF will be unleashed as the official opposition. In the end she will offer lamentations and reflections on the level of old Ian Smith...what could, should have been...in the end Helen you are a politician, like all of them,.... no patriots to be found.
There is nobody that can take this country forward in an inclusive manner that fosters growth, accountability and responsible governance with the required transparency and respect for all its citizens that has been and remains sorely absent throughout its entire history. You nailed it right there. The DA will retreat into the WC. And eventually into oblivion where it belongs.

The remaining gluttonous political parasites on their endless quest to satisfy their obscene hunger for self-empowerment and self-enrichment of their own flesh will continue to eat, betray, and assassinate not just one another but any speck of integrity their flesh may have once held.

Meanwhile South Africans will continue aimlessly trying to locate the silver lining that eludes them while each day grows darker than the last.

Exactly how I feel

Why do you say this? Do you know the history of the DP/DA?
Yes I am aware in the event you are referring to the PFP and Zille's anti-apartheid activities.

Edit: Sorry your other question: Realistically they never had the greatest chances of ever being more than they were. They now have no chance. They will be a tiny footnote in the history of SA. Both pre-94 (too English - even when they had an Afrikaner as a leader) and post-94 (too white). The future of South Africa is black by virtue of reality. It is an overwhelmingly black majority country. Zille is old school. Even if she meant well she is oblivious and irrelevant.

What is that article meant to prove?

It quotes some stuff from here and there , with only one quote from The Guardian that actually describes slavery.....but no links to the article it's from . Were the guardian there taking notes in the 1900's?

You don't have to convince me of anything. Loads of people traded and used slaves, no matter their race or origin. But at least find a better source for your story. That one is naff

So you don't care but want different sources.

Shame you always stay quite in your little corner?
Its called playing the long game - the only way reason can triumph over ignorance.

Fact is that if the average voter is to stupid to understand her tweet there is not much of a country you can built with them in any event.
Do you honestly believe that the average SA voter looking at the world through their race tinted glasses is capable of seeing through the ANC propaganda around this tweet.
