Boeing 737-8 NG wing cracks is also an issue and that makes up the entire fleet of Mango, and BA/Kulula

Picklefork crack inspections are only mandatory after 30k flights, under that value you have a year to inspect. I doubt any of the local carriers have 30k cycles on their NG planes.

Btw Comair operates BA under license so it applies to BA as well. Not sure if they've moved yet or not.
Thought this was about ongoing financial issues at SAA and not the technical aspect of it. This doesn't affect their current contracts.

I only provided a link, I made no claims. I have not learnt my lesson yet from the last incident it seems.

OMG, on a flight now, delayed 1 hour and there is a while row of seats missing . They changed the aircraft but there is no row 17 and folks checked in already.

Reports on organised crime prompted audit of SAA technical - Mbalula

One of the reasons that SA's civil aviation authority conducted a safety audit at SAA Technical was remarks made by an official at at the national airline that the loss and theft of aircraft parts may be caused by an organised crime syndicate, Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has said.

The transport minister on Tuesday briefed media following the precautionary grounding of SAA and Comair aircraft.
