While on the way back from the quick shop, some retard common mulletman in his old skorokoro decided that, because I'm on a superbike, he wants to have a go.

I didn't budge and so I kept my cruising speed and he comes up right behind me and slams the breaks as he realizes I'm not interested and almost rear-ends me.

You could see the smoke come out from what you could possibly call tyres, and I couldn't have sped up because there was a big speed bump about 5-10 meters away.

fscking retards.

\end rant

And you did absolutely nothing, that you are aware of, to illicit this? No pulling out in front of him? No revving your bike loud when you pulled off?

If not then he is an idiot!

However, I unfortunately reserve my right to judge once all the evidence is presented. My personal experiences of the riding habits of most guys on big bikes leads me to do this.

Nope. Since I'm broke I'm reserving fuel :p That and the neighborhood was bloody quiet so I was riding really calmly to avoid waking everyone up (I have a loud pipe).

GOOD MAN ;)

....well except for the loud pipe part, which forms part of my negative preconceived ideas about big bikes and their riders!

It seems he may just have been an idiot then :)

Why? It's a good safety measure - the cars around you know that you're there, and should be able to judge where you are, and thus they won't pull out unexpectedly and knock you off.

Now why would a car need to know where you are if you were staying in your lane behind them like all other road users ;)

There is a subspecies in society called bike chasers aka mulletmen who have small dick syndrome no doubt caused by faulty DNA. Action is initiated by the mere sight of motorcyclists and deep in the recesses of the mulletmens brains, such sight of a motorcyclist cruising along triggers a chemical reaction on the cellular level in mulletmens brains which overrides every other emotion and causes them to involuntarily jam their foot on their cars accelerator pedal. Maybe they want sex with our bikes. That's why we riders we need to get away:D

Lane splitting is perfectly legal. Why should riders sit in traffic?...We have better things to do with our time.

Lane splitting is legal? Seriously though did the traffic laws change on lane splitting? As I recall back in old days traffic cops used to pull you over for lane splitting.

Don't forget that your exhaust is pointing to the back and that's where all the sound goes too, so if you're travelling at a bit of speed, the sound doesn't reach the cars until you're just about next to it.

I've had one or two bikers cruise past me at 100+ in 60 zones and you get a massive fright when they wizz past you and you only hear the sound when they're right next to you.

So don't take the fact that you can hear the sound on the bike to mean every in front of you can too ;)

Lmao!

Because there are a lot of retards on the roads that drive as such i.e reckless lane changing etc.

Don't forget that your exhaust is pointing to the back and that's where all the sound goes too, so if you're travelling at a bit of speed, the sound doesn't reach the cars until you're just about next to it.

I disagree. You have to be travelling fsck fast in order for the sound to lag that much - those bikers could have been using performance exhausts in which case, yes, the sound will only "hit you" from a closer range.
