Competition Commission takes aim at Vodacom and Vumatel deal

The Competition Commission has warned that Vodacom's proposed acquisition of a stake in Vumatel's parent company will be destructive, decreasing competition in the telecommunications industry.

Advocate Daniel Berger, representing the Commission, presented its argument and concluded that this merger would "fundamentally restructure the industry."

Consolidation is very bad. Just look at how much poorer Vumatel service and pricing has been since they got acquired by CIVH
