Sorry, I haven't seen the many pro-Syrian government posters on these boards, perhaps I missed that thread. I think everyone understands that the Syrian oppression is horrific, we just don't seem to have many people on these boards willing to claim that the Syrian government are fully justified in what they are doing.

By the way, are you suggesting that if people don't voice criticism about every human rights atrocity they lose the right to criticise any of them?

Syria we are not debating who is wrong. Its pretty clear. Back to topic. We are debating the Israelis collective punishment policies being justified.

Whats happening in Israel and Palestine is truly horrible. No question about it, and it has to stop. It certainly qualifies as a tragedy.

But it's not even the worst in recent times. Not even in the last few months, let alone years. There are things going on in Central Africa that make this pale in comparison.

This is just much more emotive for everyone than, say, a few thousand people getting slaughtered in Nigeria, or raids on villages with public mutilation elsewhere etc.

With everyones emotions running high, it is easy to lose perspective on these things.
