At our office, we have a mikrotik router to manage our internet & vpn connection to other locations.
Currently a regular TP Link ADSL modem plugs into the Mikrotik
- the TP Link is then configured with a fixed ip & dhcp is disabled, i stand to be corrected but it also has some sort of port forwarding to the mikrotik router. The TP Link plugs into into the Mikrotik
- LAN switch goes into the Mikrotik and PC's go into the LAN switch.
Unfortunately we're not getting fibre to our area yet, I'm thinking of buying the rain 5g but not sure if the rain huawei router has a web interface whereby one could change the ip & disable dhcp/wifi and such.?
Its for a small office, Rain said its cool to use but because its a 'home' product, they cant guarantee any uptime or speeds. Its month to month so worth a risk i guess, just not sure how configurable their router is
