Fearless mafia spreading across South Africa

South African residents and organisations nationwide are being targeted by construction mafias for speaking out and taking a stand against criminal activity.

This is according to Construction Education & Training Authority (CETA) chair, Thabo Masombuka, who spoke to eNCA following the gunning down of Chieftainess Nogcinile Mtirara of eMqhekezweni Great Place.

Mister Minister has a problem - the Police, he wants to investigate these Mafias, are as corrupt as any other government department, and in many instances are running the Mafia's - so mot expecting and noteworthy progress, in this regard.

Nothing wrong with wanting to revamp the smoking laws, but doing so in favour of and in support of illegal cigarette trade is unforgivable.
The multitude of laws aren't being enforced. They become meaningless if they not enforced. Limited resources should be channeled towards fighting serious crime, not illegal smokers.

It's like a restaurant offering 2000 dishes. Too much to focus on resulting in a kitchen perpetually under pressure, resulting in substandard experience across the board.

We need a few good laws that are properly enforced. Once we have a handle on serious crime, we can focus on the petty stuff.

But we will never get the basics right. The corrupt and incompetent will continue to flourish and the country, on a whole, will continue to flounder...

Maybe my restaurant analogy is weak and the theory too simplistic but that's all I have for you, for the time being....

Whe you don't have a corrupt government, then laws will be enforced over the board, and not just selectively to disadvantage the governments opposition.
