South Africans complaining bitterly about bad service with online shopping

Complaints over online shopping continued to dominate submissions to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) throughout the 2022/23 financial year.

According to the CGSO's annual report, problems with online transactions accounted for 34% of all complaints received between 1 March 2022 and 28 February 2023.

Simple solution.. Go buy your stuff in a real shop.. Don't buy anything online.. I tried buy online a couple of years ago.. Clothing shirts... Wrong size, wrong fabric, didn't receive the return of the goods.. And so on.. Never again.. But.. I suppose there is always a sucker to catch, hook line and sinker.

I have to concur with you re: clothing. Always in store. I like to physically see, feel & smell what clothing I’m buying,

The “progressive” folks out there will say we’re old farts, let them struggling/enjoy the hassle when the fit is crap or it’s not what was expected etc

Checkers 60sixty is great - just don't buy anything made of glass.
My experience of OneDayOnly has been very good.
Clicks is good if slow to deliver, Dischem is also good.
Takealot is outstanding: great prices, service, delivery...
Dunno why people are complaining

I find clothing impossible to buy online. A size from one store is often a physically different size when compared to the same size from another store or even a different range from the same store, and I've even run into issues where two identical items on the shelf at the same store don't fit the same way. I buy the very item I try on, always. If I don't fit it, I don't buy it.

I absolutely hate clothes shopping so have taken to online shopping. Just had 2 pairs of shoes delivered. Have had jeans and a few shirts ordered this way as well.

Understand the pitfalls of online shopping but so far so good. Also get a wider range to choose from and not just the 2 shelves at the back us guys get dumped with

Cant wait for Amazon, used them while living in the US and the UK and the service is beyond exceptional.

First world service should be exceptional, but down the azz end of Africa, probably not so much. Just saying for a friend who's been there, done that.
