Dealers are now reserving a certain amount of cash for any repairs within 6 months of selling a used car. Well, the smart ones are, at least.

Guys, why are you buying used cars without warranties?
I bought mine with warranty. Warranty expired, nothing happened- car has zero issues. What a waste of money.

You should be OK - hopefully you bought the car from a reputable dealer - if it was from some little "Main Road" dealer, you might be in for a fight - the good thing is that you do have the weight of the CPA behind you. :)

Thanks, yeah I guess he's a "main road dealer" but he's been around for a while and seems genuine. Just waiting for the garage to send me a pic of the damaged unit so I can speak to him and show him the damage.

Hi The Other
Where did you get this info.... " if it breaks... it needs to be repaired, but if it breaks again (same fault) within a certain time... they need to replace(new part)/refund."

Thanks

Cons Act

How I understand the process... if it breaks... it needs to be repaired, but if it breaks again (same fault) within a certain time... they need to replace(new part)/refund.
There is a lot of Fine print and T&C on the act.. but that is the simplified version.

did you buy the vehicle from a dealer?
Then CPA applies
If from Joe Soap selling his car to get funds, or buy another?
Then CPA does not apply. If a vehicle is bought privately then the voetstoots clause still stands.
unless the seller said "abc is wrong, and I will fix it"
