Do you still keep your number if I move my daughter's phone from contract, which ended in Oct 2014 to pay as you go.

Any other need to know things like best time to do it etc.

Ta very much.

You keep your number, just convert the number from contract to prepaid with whoever your contract is with. I believe it takes 30 days notice to convert. Thereafter you can port the number to whoever you choose.

I did exactly the same thing in January, my average bill was R2500k and now I rarely go over R1000 without changing my usage habits.

Account needs to be in good standing or else you might forfeit the number.

Contracts are there to subsidies the handset. Explicity told my friend to be on a top up contract she didn't listen first month she got an account of R6000 next month R4 grand. Already that phone has been paid for over and over.

Then you were on the wrong contract. With that type of spend contract is cheaper.
