Hi,

anyone got any advice on CMS programs like Joomla ( or Mambo?)
I'm looking to set up a joomla based site, but before I dive right in maybe I should test the water ;)
My requirements are for a small site, with no major hard coding, simple to maintian and simplistic in design.
Would Joomla be the better suited CMS to use?
Or are there perhaps other ones I should consider ?
Any coments appreciated.

I cant comment about the ones you have mentioned because i have never used them. I have however used Drupal. Its not really all that easy to use. But, its REALLY powerfull. It ships with allot of usefull modules and themes you can customise. All and all its a pretty neat setup. This might be a good place for you to start.

I hope this helped.

Before you commit yourself to joomla/postnuke/modx please please do yourself a favour and have a look at textpattern http://textpattern.com

I use it for a number of sites, and wouldn't use anything else (I've tried most of what's out there, believe me)

I try out a lot of php based CMS's but I always seem come back to Joomla in the end. It just seems to be better at getting the "simple to use/sophisticated features" balance right.

Having used and evaluated alot of them for work (including joomla) I would always recommend Drupal first.
