So basically I have a Topup 200 contact. I don't use it much cause I got another simcard that I use so i just pop it in every few months to use the airtime for calls.

Yesterday I got a unusal sms saying click the link to view my profile.... I never clicked it cause I know these thieves catch people like this.

Woke up this morning....... WOW OMG what a shock.

R600 Airtime gone..... When I phoned MTN they just said that I am subcribed to "The Best True tones from your Phone"

Jesus I use a blackberry bold why do I want these useles true tones for R50 a day when I can just use simfy for R60 a mionth. He just said I subscribed to it he can unsubscribe me from it but there is nothing he can do to get my money back.

So Now I want to open a case at the police station against this company. Will that even be possible.

Thieves! I've seen other guys on the forum mention they got refunds when the rogue WASP couldn't prove subscription, i.e. they got the model number of the handset wrong.

Log a complaint on the WASPA site, if the wasp is a member they can assist - but be prepared for bit of a long drawn out fight. Also MTN our lovely SP is of no help, they just happy you spent money stupid SOB's - by the time they got back to me i had already gotten reimbursed by the wasp

p.s don't mention the phone you have to them , makes it more difficult for them to get it right

What's the status of your complaint with WASPA?

Happened to my wife on MTN... has this happened to anyone who isn't on MTN?
