continous resets !?

ok i dunno if it is my ISP or maybe hardware or maybe just some software issue or setting on my pc ... been getting frequent resets of my ADSL connection ... two or three times during browsing for maybe like 3 hours ... i am at 2gig no where near my 4gig cap ... so what could it be ... btw i am with axxess ... really annoying this

well - if this is true - then its a overall dsl problem because some of us can't authenticate. some can. been happening since 6pm tonight.

dunno ... cause this sh1ts been happening to me for the past week or so, maybe little longer than that ... really annoying ...

We had that happen - just randomly, out of the blue for a couple of weeks. We kept calling Telkom in and insisting it wasn't our hardware causing the problem, and they replaced several lines, and redid some cabling, and tested this and that and bla bla bla, and eventually the one day some Telkom guy happened to have some or other device at the exchange so he offered to do a test on the DSLAM, and he found that the port had gone faulty. He replaced it and now we're back on for 24 hours solid

just goes to show it takes 1 guy that just happens to be there that knows what he's doing amoung all the idiots to find and fix a problem...

Dunno if it is related, but axxess now have different DNS Servers for capped and uncapped. seems like split came in today. All International Sites did not work

I am a capped user

I used to work with no problem on the following with is "uncapped" on their Website http://www.axxess.co.za/technical.php

Primary DNS: 196.7.0.138
Secondary DNS: 196.7.142.132

Have now switched to "capped" as per their website - These are SAIX DNS Servers

Primary DNS: 196.25.255.34
Secondary DNS: 196.25.255.3

I will see if solves my resets that I also saw.
International sites now work no problem

well, my modem is set on "automatic retreival of DNS from ISP" ... i will try and force those DNS adresses above and see if it helps ...
