Dear All,

Can you please help me with this little problem. I have one of these new Vodafone USB 3G Modems I believe its the K3532 or something similar.

I run an application that requires access to the internet 24/7. But the modem most of the time disconnects itself. And Unfortunately I am not around to reconnect it, when this happens.

Is there a way that I can set this thing up to reconnect itself if it goes down?

Apologies if this has been solved elsewhere, but I cannot find any solutions elsewhere. If this has been answered before can you please direct me to the right post

Thanks

Mashster

P.S. I use Windows XP

Vodacom will disconnect you if there's no activity for 10 minutes!
Years ago it used to be 60 minutes.

Not so. I have left my 3G router on for days on end with no disconnects.

Connection Keeper
keep your connection alive

Our Rating: 4 stars (Very Good)

Connection Keeper prevents your Internet connection from appearing idle or inactive. It does this using almost no bandwidth or system resources. If a connection is lost, Connection Keeper can automatically dial back in. It can even automatically simulate a button click to close popup windows (such as those asking if you wish to remain connected) and you can configure precisely how your line is kept active. Connection Keeper s window can be minimized to the system tray and the interface customized, using one of several color schemes.

FREEWARE

its worth a try

Hi There,
Just a question regarding open connections etc.
If i open my connection on the last day of the month at say 11pm, but i only schedule downloading to start happening after midnight [which will then be the next day of the next month of course], then which cap is used ? data of the month I opened the connection in or the following months data?. Cant seem to find any info that answers this question.

Regards

I fully concur with the above statements. I have left my LTE/3G Router connected for a calendar month without ANY disconnections recorded.

LTE/3G Routers by design have superior RF front end circuitry with a higher grade of stability as opposed to your USB Stick Modems in my view.
