Contract cancellation

HI

Just thought id put my cancellation experience down here for anyone into punishing themselves.

25 Aug : Logged early cancellation , paid quote , sent docs. got reff number
29 aug : received mail stating contract was now on prepaid , but sadly it was not.
everyday since : lost 30mins to an hour of my life speaking to contract cancellation staff that just cannot do anything for me. I realise its not their fault , but it takes away none of the frustration. Multiple escalations , promises , call numbers etc.
Call records shows that its cancelled , but number is still active on the vodacom system.
Im still on contract ... cant cancel , cant get early cancellation fees back etc.
Vodacom is such a fun place to deal with.
Like herpes ... easy to get ... impossible to lose.

I think all of them are like that.

You can sign up over the phone and 1..2..3 you are on contract.

Now try cancelling that contract.......sorry, you have to go into a branch.

It took me 3 months to cancel my paid-up data contract with Telkom.

In their defense, they did reimburse me for those 3 months, so I didn't lose any money, but still, it shouldn't be that difficult to cancel a contract.

It's kinda like Hotel California......:D
