this is not data related, but since this is the most viewed vodacom forum around, maybe someone can assist me...

i wanna migrate down to a 'top up' contract but i don't wanna pay R1125 (approx. migration fee). firstly, is it possible to privately sell a contract? ie. allow someone else to take over my contract. obviously lots will need to be negotiated (no free handset etc.) is this even legal? secondly, if this is possible, could i keep my number and have a different number assigned to the contract. and could i take out a new contract with my old number?

yeah...

If something swims like a fish, looks like a fish and smells like a fish, it is a fish

No it is not possible to sell a contract . What you can do though is a "cession" ie someone else would take over your contract from the remainder of your contract period. Its like changing the person responible for the account..

And therefore ,no you cannot keep your number, you will loose your number. as it is on that contract and sim card.
