Contract R200.00 10gig + 10gig Contract Upgrade to?

Is there anyone on the 10gig + 10gig data contract (R200.00)? If so, have you upgraded from this deal to a better deal? I got a message from Telkom saying that an agent will contact me soon regarding a special upgrade deal on my current 10gig + 10gig contract.

They can try, but they'll never keep me as a customer. Impossible to get service from them.

Yes I would agree with you regarding customer service. Its not good at times. But I was on their case regarding the poor signal I was getting over a period of 3 days and they sorted it out for me. I'm still waiting for an agent to contact me with the new Data deal.

I've been on this deal for about 4 years now, can't think of a reason to change. It's running on a month to month and there is no better deal around for that price!

It will be no good if there's no improvement on this current deal. But like you said Speedster, there is no better deal from any of the other networks at the moment. Maybe I just have to stick with these deal until the next best deal. Speedster have any agent phoned you when your contract was due for an upgrade?

Yes, they phone me about once every 4 months with some plan to get me to upgrade to an inferior deal. I just say no thanks and stick to the package I'm on :)

Okie dokie Speedster. My problem at the moment is that I finish my day time data (10gig) in the first 2 weeks. I quickly run out of my day time data. I need more any time data at the moment.

I remember I got a call about 6-8 months ago from an agent offering me an additional WI-FI router + 3gig anytime + 2gig night time for the amount of R150.00 to be added to my current contract. I would have paid R350.00 per month for everything. 13gig anytime + 12gig night time + the WI-FI router. I never took this offer.

If you're finishing your 10GB in the first two weeks, an additional 3GB isn't going to help very much - you'll be needing roughly another 10GB per month. CellC has 20GB going for R399, although that puts you into the price range where the Uncapped LTE for R599 becomes very attractive.

They wanted me to upgrade to R299 for the same deal but month to month, so I said either renew at R199 for another 24 months or cancel the contract, they renewed at R199. Cancellation fee is something like R800 though, signed up again with trepidation, it's still about the best deal available on any network but Telkoms network is still not the biggest and just in the last month Mtn/cell c etc are starting to get close to the 10gb +10gb R199 threshold.

Looks like in the next year big mobile data bundle prices/contracts from the big 2 is going to fall even more, it's their next/only big cash cow left, they need as many users as possible burning R100 - R200 a month on data.

While it was hard to get hold of Cell C beat this deal last month. 2 x 5GB + 15GB deals at R99 each gets you more data for R1 less.

Saw that, only came out after I resigned for another 24 months though. Is that deal still available?

if they too crazy on new pricing, vodacom have 10+10 or 10topup for R299 atm

I though that was a once off pricing, is that now their normal rate?

That is the best way to buy data, you have months where you don't need much data, contract you use it or lose it so you can't save data for when it's perhaps needed later.
