Why didn't you go for uncapped LTE at R599?
Once the contract has expired can only stay on month to month if you pay R299 for the same package, which is the normal rate open to anyone or resign another 24 months at R199.I got another SMS yesterday saying that an agent will contact me soon regarding my upgrade. This is the second SMS in a month. But no call yet. I'm sure that they will offer me less for what I'm getting now. When my contract ends, will it still continue on a month to month for R200.00?
Thanks Airborne for the advice. It is such a mission to get hold of Telkom to find out what is going to happen once my contract expires. The general service you get in this country lately goes for a ball of crap. Really pathetic.Once the contract has expired can only stay on month to month if you pay R299 for the same package, which is the normal rate open to anyone or resign another 24 months at R199.
Beware if you leave your contact to lapse without cancelling they automatically migrate you to the R299 rate and bill accordingly.
How long since the contract expired?I'm still paying R199 for mine and I'm on month to month...

Not true. They tried to get me to upgrade by telling me this, but when my initial 24-months expired the R199 deal continued (and still does)
EDIT: The invoice says R299, but there is a R100 credit included at the top of the invoice.
How long since the contract expired?
I tried the ignore tactic and my bill eventually automatically jumped to R299
That R100 credit thing has always been there.
You may just be lucky but perhaps in for a surprise in future!
How long has it been since your contract expired?
Wtf did I do wrong then?
Did they call you guys(those on month to month well after the contract expired) , warning about the expiry of your contract and approaching new rate etc?
They called me and I ignored whatever they said, I was also hoping I could idle along at R199 month to month. What did I do wrong?
I flatten that sucker! They phoned me about a new contract somewhere last year (20gb + 20gb LTE or somesuch)and I was like, "no thanks"
Do you use up your 10GB daytime every month? I hardly use even a quarter most months...
I flatten that sucker!
These days mainly viewing HD youtube videos because the owner of the ADSL line I use won't upgrade it to 4mbs and 2mbs is 360p only, unless you don't mind 720p with buffering once a minute.

A quick update regarding my current contract that ends this month. I got a call from Telkom and offered me an LTE router 20gig + 20gig for R399.00 per month. I 'm not really happy about it but had no choice but to take this offer. Eish, more night shift hours.
The 10+5 won't be enough for me. I'm already finding it hard to get through the month with the 10gig. I'm streaming allot of youtube videos and it's using up all my data. That's why I took the 10+5 for R199 they offered me.
