“We view the transaction as unlikely to negatively impact the market while making the Transferee an effective player in the market. Additionally, the Authority views the proposed transaction to be in the best interest of the public.”

Really?

Although Maziv owns the licences, control of DFA’s licences has been transferred to Vodacom.

I am trying to unpack what this means. Doesn't Vodacom already have those licenses? The ownership/control angle puzzles me a bit.

vodacom has its own IECS and IECNS licences which it will continue to use mainly for mobile services. it now also has a 30-40% interest in the Maziv licences (previously held by DFA)

so more accurate to say that both voda and CIVH have control of the maziv licences (CIVH as parent company to DFA)

also, east staines maziv
