That whole article stinks of lies, contradictions and double standards by telkom.

They act like they are sooo happy that the SNO will bring competition to the market and make things better for the consumers aswell as the ISP's, please.

One of the key issues is repositioning Telkom from a telecoms company to a communications company that is driven by customer needs, he said.
Why am I not convinced?

I would actually like to see some positiveness for a change, I am also very frustrated with the way things are at the moment regarding our telecoms BUT, let us at least wait and see what this new guy does. We at myadsl are starting to make a difference regarding making others aware of what they are getting for their money and showing them that it is actually a rip off.

When we first started out and you heard people talking, people would actually defend Telkom because they did not know better. Let us keep on fighting, but let us also give this new guy a chance. Maybe he does come through and then we will have to thank him LOL :D well, it would be the right thing to do you know.

So in that statement he is actually admitting they are not a company driven by customer needs

I think Mr. Molotsane has the right ideas. He is fully aware of his obligation to the shareholders, but he seems equally aware of the fact that in a competitive market the customers needs 'need' to be addressed. Without the customer they wont exist soon. Thats a very real truth, and they cannot ignore it any longer.
MyAdsl having formal meetings with Telkom was unheard of in Sizwe's era.

The shareholders have also been forewarned about the possiblity of shrinking profits due to regulation, so the outlook for them is certainly bleaker.
Sizwe missed the boat completely on customer issues due to zero competition or just plain greed, or perhaps a bit of both, make your own minds up.
One could also argue that Sizwe did a fine job 'fine tuning' Telkom to be able to face competition, at the expense of 1000's of jobs though to maintain profit.

Mr. Molotsane has also rocked the proverbial boat amongst the elite at Telkom with his restructuring of duties. There seems to be a 'my way or the highway' attitude there at the moment and so far Mr. Molotsane's comments about the market are favorable to the end users I think. It remains to be seen how this all translates into action and benefits for the end user, but I for one will give him a chance to come good.

True, it's quite possible that we could be witnessing a new era as the new guy tries to reposition telkom in a good light. it looks like he is not prepared to be influenced by Sizwe's minions and thats y most of them are taking the highway.
i believe that telkom has most of the nifty tech to propel this country forward, its just that till now they couldn't be bothered to actually make good use of it as they had no need to be competetive. Now we must just hope the sno does not go into bed with telkom or else we are back to square 1 !!
lets give the new ceo a chance and if he also turns out to be *** then we can start throwing smelly eggs at him (son of a b****, by then)...

IMO this is why $izwe packed up and f'ed off before he was due to leave. let someone else take the wrap for shrinking profits and answer to the shareholders.
