Hi guys. Have any of you done this? My RBM contract is now finished and I want to migrate my line now to Straight Up 50 + extra 50Meg data bundle as I dont use my phone that much. Also just want a month 2 month as I am still very happy with my RAZR. Went to the store yesterday and was told they cant migrate me. I need to cancell the contract and convert to prepaid, then I must reapply and then they can put me on the Cell C Straight Up 50 month to month.

I have filled and signed the cancellation form (I did put in big caps that it must be converted to prepaid so they dont delete my number) ... but I am flying down to Cape Town tomorrow and now I am scared that I am gonne be converted to prepaid while I am on leave. Not the end of the world I guess....but would have preferred to just have it migrated.

Anyway...have any of you guys converted from RBM to Cell C Straight Up? Did you have to do the same process?

Thank you kindly. Cell_C Pro have given me a shout and he said he will have this done for me.

Thank you very much. Maybe just clarify the procedure here for other peeps that want to do the same thing as me for future reference.

It has been covered many times. Just use correct words. Never use 'cancel' or 'convert'. The only word accepted is 'migrate'.
I know you had used correct word, but you talk about other peeps, hence my entry. :)

Like you said...I did use the term migrate as it is the same term we use @ Vodacom.

There is some kind of issue and it seems it is because it is on RBM or something. This is as per the guy at the store and his help desk...hence why he wants me to cancel the contract, convert to prepaid and the reapply again for a account with Cell C, which to me seems like a terribly long process with lots of room for something to go wrong.

That is why I said maybe Cell_C can clarify if this is indeed the case moving from RBM to Cell C pakcage. :)

If the topic of moving between RBM and Cell C packages have been covered before then I apologise for the duplicate thread.

Thank you Cell_C ... my number converted to prepaid about a hour ago. Phoned 082145 as per Angela and Xolani assisted and took down all the details and emailed me order number. Said it should be done latest Friday. Asked him if he can fast track it a little as it is a no device month - month contract.

Was very painless and did not have to go into a store again and do a application for a new contract as I thought I would have to.

Thanks again.

Al wat dit se is dat ek is 'n arm gat wat verantwoordelik is vir sy eie mediese fonds en selfoon rekening en dus gaan waar dit die heel goedkoopste is op die oomblik.

PS: I dont work for Vodacom directly.

Oh dear god...Cell_C...please make sure they dont lock me into a contract again. You mentioned a phone delivery what what! I made it clear to the guys I spoke to this will be a Straight Up 50 month to month contract with no phone! I am happy with my RAZR still. That is why I asked you to check to see why it is taking so long? I am not waiting for a delivery before activation. I just wanted to move from RBM to Straight UP 50 month to month.

Please please read this message and check that they are not sending me some phone I never wanted and locking me into a contract. I have sent you a PM also...I hope you read it in time. I tried 084145 before PM'ing you today...but they were not answering hence why I asked you for help. Will try them again tomorrow to try get clarity on this but not sure if they open on weekend.

Hi Ockie, Please let me know as soon as you receive your sim card. It will probably be delivered on Thursday. You wont be receiving a phone and you will be on a month to month straight up 50 contract. *DM*

Only on Thursday? Cell_C.....can I not go into a Cell C store and just buy a sim and then give you or someone the sim number to do the activation? This is taking really long. I would like to get this done soon as possible.

I have to say...this is going nowhere slowly. Cell_C...your guy Tebogo phoned me and said the sim I bought yesterday as per you cannot be used and they are delivering the sim today. I then told him that I am at work and not at home which they have as the deilvery address. He said he will then ask RAM to deliver to my work...they phoned me now and they were at my house address and wanted a copy of my ID.

Anyway...Thursday it is then I guess. Just please dont cut my line before I have my new sim.

tnx

Right...update again. Tebogo phones me back and made a u-turn and advised that the sim I bought can indeed be used to move me over. 10 Minutes later and I am using my new sim and am now on the Straight Up 50.

Thank you all. Was a bit of a rocky road but got there. :)

I am just glad it is now sorted.

Thank goodness I logged into the Cell C website...cause what do I see there? Banking details I have never seen in my life. I made a very quick call to customer care and the guy updated it. I would have been very sour if suddenly my line was suspended due to non payment.

Anyway....think all is in order now.
